So, my dear watchers, I present you the thing that has been eating all my free time for the whole month. Entry for =Twelfth's contest.
The characters are Dragon and Chimera -- had a really hard time deciding who I want to draw and ended up drawing them both. It was insane - I did everything I could to make this the best artwork I could with my current abilities. And I think I succedeed... I'm rarely happy with my own drawings, and this is one of these rare times. Of course there is a huge room for improvement, but I'm really happy with it now. ;; I really put my whole heart and soul into this - not only because I would kill for the main prize, but also because I adore =Twelfth's characters and always wanted to draw them -- this contest was a good reason to finally do so. So, even if I'm open for critiques, please don't be too harsh with me.
The painting took around 35 hours in total. Everything was painted from scrath, including background. Original is 6450 x 3800 pixels, AND I'M SO FRIGGIN' HAPPY I'M DONE.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactWell, it is my first critique so far...
First of all I have to say, I am totally impressed how long she spent time on this piece. She was drawing it every day, not giving up and dealing with every single detail, which can be seen here.
The background is just one big masterpiece. When I look at it, I can't believe it is made only with airbrush in SAI. It is almost impossible to believe this! The idea is so creative and awesome, the background on each side of an artwork is different and it isn't only the clash of two beasts- it is the clash of backgrounds too! The cold one versus the warm one. Fantastic.
I can't say much about the anathomy since is is my own problem while doing many pictures. But I know the artist was working on picture very hard, that's why she was also trying to make the bodies of beasts correctly. And she won with it. C8
Frankly speaking there is almost nothing bad I can say about this artwork. It's because it is done in a very good way. The things, that I don't like or so are so tiny that they shouldn't be mentioned here. Also it is just my own opinion, so it really doesn't matter, since it was author's idea, not mine. And we can't love everything all the time.
